John Tchicai and Peter Laugesen both come from the city of Århus and have both had remarkable careers. Tchicai went to New York were he recorded with John Coltrane and John Lennon. Laugesen stayed in Århus where he has made a name for himself as a European Beat poet. The two artists met for the first time in Consul Pepsi & The Sweet Thunder Poetry Parade. Credits for arranging this event goes to Jakob Buchanan.
John Tchicai lives in southern France. The music was recorded in a 1000 year old chateau in the mountains.
Consul Pepsi & The Sweet Thunder Poetry Parade is also a live act, that brings life to the stage with its improvised interaction between spoken word, jazz themes and instruments talking.
The band started out touring in France 2006 and have since played concerts in Denmark at music-festivals and art galleries.
